The photo of the tulips was taken with a Nikon 500mm lens at f/4, hence the limited depth of field. The background blue is actually a body of water (I was looking down a grade towards it), and the reddish color is potato-growing soil in my native Prince Edward Island (it's rich in iron). Thanks for the feedback.

Thanks for the encouragement, akemi-n! The colors of the sky demanded my attention - I'd never seen them like this before. So, I made my excuses and abandoned my companion for the time it took to make the exposure.
