Thanks Jean & Mcliu. It took a 1 hour taxi ride, a 35 min boat ride, and a 35 min horse back ride up the volcano for this shot. It was well worth it. This is one of my favorite shots so far.
Thanks Michiel. This was actually the same shot. I just didn't load it up with crap this time. I cropped it slightly differently and enhanced the reds a bit to accent the tip, but that was pretty much it. This pics is exactly what I shot. I think you're right though. I have to watch the focus. It could be a tad clearer on the tip. Well..next time.
Ah...I see what you mean about the focusing Michiel. I guess timing is key as well. I'll definitely keep these composition notes in mind. I'm going to try this shot again, when i can. I just purchased a D7000. I realize the camera won't make me a better photographer, but I like the quick access of the external composition options. Anyway, thanks for the criticism and the info. Both served me well.
Thanks for your comments. It's always nice to get feed back from other photographers, as I'm still learning. Looking back on it, I think I got caught up in B&W mode at that time. I was looking at a lot of B&W shots, maybe I forced this one.
I'm an amateur photographer and I still have a lot to learn. Could you explain the concept a bit?
