But that's a mighty nice shot to show for all your gruel. I love the ZF 2.8/21mm, to my mind, and supported by your beautiful pano, it may be one of the all time great wide angle lenses for the 35mm/FX format (D)SLR, and can hold its own with the Leica and Zeiss rangefinder lenses, no trivial feat.

Thanks Niki. I don't know what the Kowa 55/1.1 lens was really intended for, but obviously it wasn't conventionally sharp pictures with a Nikon DSLR. Maybe it was made just for this sort of fun. Other photos of mine without a designated lens were also taken with this Kowa optic.

I should note that on this and the other "dreamy" flower images shot with Nikkor lenses all also used extension rings in addition to the wide open large aperture lenses cited. The non-Nikkor flowers are using Kowa f/1.1 lenses, either 55 or 77mm focal length, without rings. Not sure what the Kowa lenses are actually intended for, but whatever the use may have been it's not this!

I got quite a few nice shots with it, both of wildlife and some landscapes. Much more user (and wallet) friendly than the 70-200, though obviously lacks the faster aperture. I have no regrets having made the switch, however.

Nikkor SW 120/8 large format lens, the widest that can be used on the 8x10" format, Astia 100F film.

The Nikon connection is the lens used which was a Nikkor AM 210/5.6 Micro large format lens on a Canham 5x7" camera, Kodak Portra 160NC film.

Thanks Zeiss Man. The relevant particulars that I cannot figure out how to enter are that the picture was taken with a Nikkor AM 120/5.6 Micro large format lens on 4x5" Velvia 50. I hope the Nikkor lenses qualify these large format photos for the site. Unfortunately for all, Nikon never made large (or even medium) format cameras, but we are fortunate to have their lenses for large format use, though now out of production.
