Walter2 - Thank you for the "like." The annual car show in Iola, Wisconsin has over 2,000 classic cars. Lots of opportunities for great photos.

@ micpic069:
This is by far the best and most elaborated and well analized comment I have ever gotten on here. Thank you very much! It helps, of cours, that the landscape was photographed inside the very old garrison-town of Gamlebyen - one of the best preserved fortifications in Scandinavia.

Thank you - and Best wishes,
Walter from Norway

You have retained a pleasing luminousity banishing the dark forest interpretation so often indulged in this type of image

The Monochrome treatment is absolutely right and captures a gentle nostalgia for me. A pleasantly luminous light permeates the image and enhances all the textural details .

Thank you. I shot Delta 3200, for its graininess and high-contrast, to emphasize the graphical nature of the wooden bridge.

Thank you for your thoughts, rbsinto. This was by no means a planned portrait. The Viking happenede to walk by, in front of me where I stood ringside to photograph the annual Viking reenactment of a historical sword fight (see the rope-fence in the background?) and I had my 18-140mm on . I just took a chance and fired off a few shots as he walked by. By chance I got 1 hit, although this is heavily cropped.
Best regards,
Walter

Walter, this is a nice informal portrait, that could have been improved by pumping up the ISO enough to allow you to shoot wide open to shallow up the depth of field and eliminate somewhat the distracting background.
Alternately, cropping vertically both in front of, and behind the subject would get rid of the people in the background.

It is a gem. Usually can be found in quite a reasonable price in used market.

Sharp. I was looking at this lens(used) the other day. I have to take a second look now.

Thank you. I have been eyeing this garbage-collection area for its graphic lines. The subdued light seems to suit it, in emphasizing the lines more.

Love the poetic analogy of expression and colour. An alert mind and eye !!
